Four Redmond cheerleaders raising donations

Four Redmond High School cheerleaders would like to go to London to perform at a New Year’s Day parade, but they need help getting there.

On Sunday, the cheerleaders held a cheer camp at Sam Johnson Park.

Little ones in first to eighth grade learned how to cheer, do jumps and dance.

The children received a T-shirt with the words “Camp Spirit” on it, a hair bow and made their very own pom-poms.

To make the team, the girls had do a jump, a kick, a dance and a cheer.

They scored the highest and will be marching in London.

“I love cheer,” said junior Kenzie Frank. “I really like trying to get the crowd pumped, and just getting everyone involved and ready to go. It’s just a lot of fun to be with the girls all the time, and everyone’s always hyper and having a good time.”

The girls need to raise $3,000 apiece to be able to go.

Their next fund-raiser will be Sept. 12 at the American Legion Park where they will have live music and a taco feed.

For more information on their trip and for other events coming up, you can visit the girl’s Facebook page with the title “I made All American Cheer.”
