Forest road closed to remove standing dead trees

KTVZ

The Deschutes National Forest, Bend-Ft. Rock Ranger District, is closing a Forest Service road temporarily because standing dead trees adjacent to the road are creating a public safety hazard.

Forest Service Road 370 will be closed until the hazard trees adjacent to the road are felled. The closure will occur immediately and the public will be notified when the temporary closure is lifted.

The work will occur as soon as possible; however, it may not be completed until the fall.

The closure is from the junction at Broken Top trailhead (Forest Road 380) to the junction of the 370 road with Forest Road 4601, where there is a gate. Broken Top Trailhead remains open, but must be accessed from the south.
