Man shot, killed outside Salem Walmart

Salem police are investigating a deadly shooting early Monday morning in the parking lot of the Salem Walmart store.

Police said the victim, 28-year old Bryan John Lee Knorr of Salem, had just left the store at 19450 Turner Road SE just before 6 a.m. when he was confronted by another man in a gold SUV, who apparently had been waiting for him.

They said “words were exchanged” between the two men before Knorr was shot. He was taken to Salem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

While detectives interview witnesses, police said they were looking for a Honda SUV that is gold or tan in color, with a spare tire mounted on the rear.There is a white temporary registration mounted in the rear window and a blue placard mounted where the license plate usually would be displayed.

Anyone with information about the SUV was asked to call 911 immediately.
