Strong, fit girls are cool girls! Bend Park and Recreation invites girls ages 10 to 15 years old to join the new Will Power for Girl Power program.

Held at Juniper Swim & Fitness Center this fall, the class is nationally recognized and led by certified wellness coach, Mikki Profitt.

The program features a variety of fitness disciplines such as yoga, Pilates and boot camp and includes nutrition tips and group encouragement.

There are two four-week sessions held on early release Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:30 pm; one beginning October 3rd and the second beginning November 7th.

“The Girl Power class is unique in that it’s focused on the fitness needs of young women and girls,” said Monica McClain-Smith, Fitness Coordinator. “With a positive, fun workout environment, the program aims for participants to be comfortable and supported within the group, making new friends and feeling good inside and out.”

Will Power for Girl Power also includes a full facility fitness pass to over 180 weekly group classes so that attendees may incorporate additional exercise at their convenience. The program fee is $55 for in-district residents and $74 for out-of-district residents. Class size is limited to only twelve participants so early registration is encouraged.

Additional information and registration is available online at www.bendparksandrec.org, via phone at (541) 389-7665 or at Juniper Swim & Fitness Center. Located at 800 NE 6th Street, Juniper Swim & Fitness Center is open seven days a week.
