NewsChannel 21 apologizes for video-freezing issues

KTVZ

NewsChannel 21 apologizes to viewers for the continued freeze-ups and interruptions in our on-air programming, caused by a major upgrade in our master control equipment.

“As part of our major equipment upgrade currently taking place, we are still experiencing some software bugs,” General Manager Bob Singer said.

“These are being addressed by our team of engineers and consultants,” Singer said. “We are truly sorry about the inconvenience and will have it fixed as soon as possible.”

“It’s an issue we’re well aware of,” Singer said. “We’re still dealing with it, and it has been difficult to detect and fix, due to its intermittent nature.”

“It’s very frustrating to us, and we know it is to you, our loyal viewers,” he added.

We ask for and appreciate your patience during the transition to a new system — the largest such “behind the scenes” upgrade in our 35-year history — that will offer greater opportunities for improved programming for our viewers.
