The Center, SCMC continue Sisters HS partnership

KTVZ

The Center Foundation and St. Charles Health System are working together to provide Sisters High School athletes with continued access to a certified athletic trainer and concussion management services.

By funding a certified athletic trainer, the two organizations are helping young athletes “have daily access to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sports-related injuries,” said Dr. Tom Carlsen, president of TCF/The Center Foundation’s board.

Sisters High School — where Certified Athletic Trainer John Barresse works in the training room and on the field during practices and games — is one of only 50 in the state receiving emergency care, injury assessment, concussion testing and injury prevention strategies from a certified athletic trainer.

“Helping fund this important program ensures young athletes are able to safely participate in sports,” said Brenda Finkle, St. Charles’ director of system communications and marketing, “and furthers our mission to improve the health of the communities we serve.”
