Hertz Halloween campaign aids St. Jude
Hertz Car Sales and Hertz Rental Centers are encouraging customers this October to give hope to kids battling cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases by donating $1 at the register from October 1 through October 31 during the St. Jude Halloween Promotion campaign to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ® , one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other deadly childhood diseases.
Hertz Car Sales and Hertz Rental Centers are once again participating in the campaign in stores throughout Washington and Oregon, joining more than 12,000 restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores and other retail locations nationwide that encourage consumers to make a donation to St. Jude. Over the past 21 years, the Halloween pinup promotion has raised more than $59 million for St. Jude.
Consumers who donate at Hertz Car Sales and Hertz Rental Centers can personalize a pumpkin-themed pinup, featuring St. Jude patients Sophie, Itzaer, and Coraliz that will be displayed in the establishment throughout the month. Sophie was just two years old when her parents got the devastating news that she had retinoblastoma, a type of eye cancer. Sophie’s doctor provided a referral to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where Sophie underwent chemotherapy and laser treatments until completing it in 2010. Sophie, who celebrated this past Halloween dressed like a witch, is now a happy two-year-old, and her latest scans show that she is stable.
