La-Z-Boy donation aids Ronald McDonald House

KTVZ

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Oregon just got more comfortable thanks to a La-Z-Boy ® furniture donation from the Bend La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries store.

The two donated queen sleeper sofas will enable families staying at this “home away from home” to sleep up to six adults in their room and will serve hundreds of families.

A good night’s sleep is critical to the health and well-being of families as they lodge at the Bend Ronald McDonald House. The newly donated furnishings will create an even more comfortable atmosphere for the families of sick and injured children staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

“Families with a sick child in the hospital are under a great deal of stress.” said Kristy Krugh, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Oregon “We are very grateful to have a community partner like La-Z-Boy that shares our dedication to comfort and to keeping families together during a challenging time.”

La-Z-Boy is the official furniture provider of Ronald McDonald House programs nationwide. The La-Z-Boy contribution to RMHC across the United States includes annual furniture donations, as well as a cash contribution and volunteer efforts.

Over the past three years this has added up to over 3,700 pieces of furniture, consisting of stationary and motion sofas, loveseats and sectionals, occasional tables and other wood furniture, as well as ottomans, accent chairs and, of course, recliners.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Oregon supports children and families in Central and Eastern Oregon through its cornerstone program, the Bend Ronald McDonald House, a six-room “home away from home” for families of pediatric patients who travel to Bend for medical treatment.
