Bend Park and Rec offers no-school-day activities

When Bend-LaPine Schools children are out of school this month, Bend Park & Recreation aims for children to be active and engaged through a variety of recreational programs.

Offered at several locations and times on Veterans’ Day and during the Thanksgiving holiday break, activities include creative arts, baking, science, sports and play.

For children who want to explore their creativity, there are several options including:

–Cupcake Decorating: Ages: 10 – 15 (Session # 306315) November 19 – 20: 1:00 – 4:00 pm; Fee: $60 In-district / $81 Out-of-district

–The Thanksgiving Table: Grades: 4 – 6 (Session # 306522)
November 12: 1:00 – 4:00 pm; Fee: $36 In-district / $49 Out-of-district

–Inspired by Autumn Art Class: Grades: 1 – 3 (Session # 306525)

Finally, Bend Park & Recreation offers kids opportunities to get out and move whether in an organized sport or free play environment including:

November 19 – 21: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
One Half Day Fee: $30 In-district / $41 Out-of-district
Two Half Days Fee: $60 In-district / $81 Out-of-district
–Open Recreation Swim at Juniper Swim & Fitness Center November 12, 19 – 21: 1:00 – 4:00 pm
Fees: $4: Ages 3 – 15 / $5: Ages 16 – 18, single visit, in-district (other fees online)

Children’s safety and care are always a priority in all BPRD programs. All staff and volunteers receive specialized training and must pass thorough criminal background checks.
