Holiday Faire helps Three Sisters Lions Club

The holiday bazaars and other special programs for the season continue to sprout up around Central Oregon, and this weekend, the Three Sisters Lions Club opened its store.

The five member Lions Club in Sisters opened a fair where you will find unique handcrafted items, all created by Central Oregon artisans.

The vendors will get 75 percent of the sales and the Lions Club will get 25 percent of the proceeds that will go to fund eye and hearing tests.

The funds will also be used for scholarships for Sisters High School graduating seniors.

“This is a very small community, and there’s not a lot of money any more,” said Deri Frazee, vice president of the Three Sisters Lion Club. “A lot of people need help and especially, people with kids who don’t have health insurance, or have not very good health insurance. They can’t afford to get surgery for their kids or glasses for themselves.”

The Lions Club usually gives out $2,500 to three to five graduates a year.

The Holiday Faire is in the Three Wind Shopping Center, 445 W. Hwy. 20, right next to Bi-Mart.

To see all the handmade, local items, the faire runs from now until Dec. 16, except Thanksgiving Day. Hours are Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
