Bend kids tickled to have breakfast with Santa

KTVZ

Santa made a special trip Sunday morning from the North Pole.

He came to visit kids at the Pine Tavern Restaurant in downtown Bend.

It was the 21st annual “Breakfast with Santa.” a partnership between the restaurant and the Assistance League of Bend.

Families enjoyed breakfast and a visit with Santa early Sunday morning. All the proceeds benefited another breakfast later in the morning for foster children.

Foster children and their families enjoyed a free breakfast, visit with Santa, pictures and a stuffed animal.

Event coordinator Cindy Rowley said it was a magical start to the Christmas season.

“This is a joyful experience, because they get to talk to Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus,” Rowley said. “The picture is of the children waiting in line, and their anticipation of talking to Santa — that’s the fun part.”

Rowley said about 170 foster children and their families attended the event.
