Bend police seek 2 suspects in New Year’s stabbing

A Bend man and woman are recovering from wounds in a stabbing at a northeast Bend apartment early New Year’s Day, police said late Friday as they asked the public for any tips to help find two suspects.

However, police also are remaining tight-lipped about several aspects of the case, in order not to jeopardize the investigation, said Sgt. Nick Parker.

Police were called to the Reserves at Pilot Butte about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday on a reported stabbing at No. 204 at the complex at 21312 Hwy. 20, Parker said.

Officers found a woman with injuries to her arm and a man injured on the back of his head, both “consistent with being caused by a knife,” Parker said.

The two were taken by ambulance to St. Charles-Bend with non-life-threatening injuries, the sergeant said, adding that both have since been released from the hospital.

The victims gave investigators descriptions of the two suspects, who reportedly fled in a vehicle. The suspects were not known to the victims, Parker added, declining to release the descriptions of them or their vehicle.

“We want to protect the victims until the suspects are arrested,” Parker said. “Anything more released we believe would be detrimental to the case.”

The investigation is continuing, and there have been no arrests at this time, Parker said. Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact Bend police at (541) 693-6911.
