Two arrested in NE Bend motel meth raid

Two Bend residents were arrested Monday in a raid on a northeast Bend motel room they allegedly sold methamphetamine out of, police said.

Bend police executed a search warrant around 2:40 p.m. at Palmer’s Motel, 645 NE Greenwood Ave., with the assistance from members of the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement and Emergency Response teams, said Cpl. Rob Emerson.

The raid resulted from a month-long Bend police investigation in which officers learned Jesse David Lopez, 48, and Tracie Ann Marie Park, 31, were distributing meth from their motel room, Emerson said.

“Various investigative techniques were used in the investigation,” Emerson said in a news release, not divulging surveillance or other details.

The raid occurred without incident, the officer said, and turned up a small amount of methamphetamine, along with evidence of distribution and manufacturing.

Police also located property that’s believed to have been stolen, Emerson said, adding that the investigation will continue and more charges may follow as a result.

Lopez and Park were arrested on charges of drug delivery, possession and manufacture within 1,000 feet of a school, Emerson said.

They also are charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and first-degree child neglect.

Word on the status of Park’s two daughters, ages 2 and 14, was not available, although police said the younger girl was in the room at the time of the raid, and the state Department of Human Services assisted in the investigation.

Lopez and Park remained held Tuesday at the Deschutes County Jail on $77,500 bail, records showed.
