Got Baby stuff?

Soroptimist International of Bend is holding its 8th Annual Community Baby Shower, a collection of essential baby items for local families in need.

All donations are delivered to the Department of Human Services (DHS), which will distribute them to local families who cannot afford baby care supplies or to mothers who have fled domestic violence.

Donations of gently used and new baby items, including diapers, pajamas, clothing, blankets, wipes, thermometers, pacifiers, toys, bottles & hygiene items such as baby shampoo and powder are requested. Used car seats cannot be donated, but the need is great for new ones.

Items should be unwrapped and may be dropped off from February 1st through March 31st at the following six county-wide locations:

Deschutes County Libraries:
Bend Downtown Branch – 601 NW Wall
East Bend Branch – 62080 Dean Swift Road
LaPine Branch – 16425 1st Street
Redmond Branch – 827 Deschutes Avenue
Sisters Branch – 110 N Cedar Street
WillowBerry Boutique – 1036 NE 3rd, Bend (at Greenwood, Bend next to Arco)

DHS also welcomes monetary donations, which it uses to purchase items not donated in this collection. Send checks to Soroptimist, P.O. Box 1843, Bend, OR 97709. Receipts will be provided for the tax-deductible donations. See www.sibend.org or contact us at 937-903-8354 for additional information.
