Report: Deschutes home prices up 13.8 pct. in 2012
Bend-area homes (Deschutes County-wide) generally gained value in dramatic fashion in 2012, at a rate well above the national housing recovery, according to new data released Tuesday by CoreLogic.
The data shows home prices in the Bend metro area (which is defined as all of Deschutes County) rose by 13.8 percent in the year ended in December.
On a month-over-month basis, home prices increased by 0.3 percent in December, the report said.
CoreLogic reported that nationally, home prices increased by 8.3 percent in 2012, the biggest year-over-year increase seen since May of 2006.
On a month-over-month basis, home prices increased by 0.4 percent in December.
CoreLogic said its data indicates 46 out of 50 states are experiencing year-over-year price gains.
