Prescribed burn planned along Millican Rd.

KTVZ

Fuels specialists with the Prineville BLM plan to complete a 300-acre prescribed burning project along Millican Road about 15 miles southwest of Prineville starting Tuesday.

The burn will clean up juniper slash leftover from a thinning project. The burn is expected to take 3-4 days to complete.

Smoke may be visible to vehicles on Highway 126 near the Prineville Airport and from the Prineville area.

No road closures are anticipated with any of these burns; however, smoke may temporarily affect visibility and travel along Millican Road. Where necessary motorists should reduce speeds and turn on headlights.

All controlled burns are completed in cooperation with the Oregon Department of Forestry smoke management plan and are weather dependent. For more information, visit the Central Oregon Interagency Dispatch Center website at www.fs.fed.us/r6/centraloregon/fire
