Madras Mountain Views Bikeway proposed

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department will hold a public meeting for a proposed 29-mile loop Madras Mountain Views Bikeway at 5:30 p.m. March 27 at the Madras Aquatic Center Community Room, 1195 SE Kemper Way in Madras.

The proposed scenic bikeway passes through Madras, Culver, Metolius and past the entrance of Cove Palisades State Park. Information on the designation process for scenic bikeways and a draft of the bikeway plan are available at www.oregonscenicbikeways.org.

Public comments on the recommended bikeway will be taken at the meeting. Written public comment will be accepted both before and after the meeting until the Oregon State Parks and Recreation Commission acts on the proposed designation. Comments will be reviewed by the route proponents and included in the information presented to the Oregon State Parks and Recreation Commission before the commission votes on designation.
