The Board of Directors of BrightSide Animal Center is pleased to announce the promotion of Ms. Christine Bauersfeld to the position of Executive Director of the organization.

Chris has been employed at BrightSide (then Redmond Humane Society) for over four years as the Shelter Manager. In her new role, she will be responsible for all activities of the organization, reporting directly to the board.

Chris has over 30 years of experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician and has served on several shelter boards. In her time at the shelter, Chris has developed innovative sheltering solutions and a responsible admissions policy that results in one of the highest save rates in the country – 99% for dogs and 98% for cats in 2012. A community-based, volunteer-rich approach to BrightSide programs ensures one of the lowest shelter costs per animal in the State.
