New Bend pet food bank accepting donations

Bend Spay and Neuter Project and Bend Pet Express are joining forces to open a new Pet Food Bank for low-income pet owners in Central Oregon. The Pet Food Bank, called HOPE, which stands for Help Our Pets Eat, will open on Saturday, April 6 th .

Donations of cat and dog food are now being accepted at both Bend Pet Express locations (Century Dr. and Windy Knolls) and at Bend Spay and Neuter Project (910 SE Wilson Suite B-1). New or gently used collars and leashes are also being accepted.

HOPE Pet Food Bank will be open the first Saturday of each month beginning on April 6 th . Food will be distributed from the Westside Bend Pet Express, 420 SW Century Dr. from 10am to 12pm.

Food Bank clients will need to qualify based on their annual income in accordance with the standards for the Oregon Housing Assistance program. Qualified clients are eligible to receive enough food for one month for up to three pets.

Donations of cat and dog food are greatly needed to help support this new program. If you would like to collect food at your business, please contact Bend Spay and Neuter Project at 541-617-1010 and a donation box will be dropped off at your location. Donations may be dropped off at either Bend Pet Express location or at Bend Spay and Neuter Project.
