Two injured in crash at NE Bend intersection

KTVZ

The driver of a car apparently ran a stop sign in northeast Bend Friday afternoon and it collided with an SUV that turned on its side, blocking Second Street and Olney Avenue, police said.

Officers said a Ford Focus heading south on Second Street ran the stop sign and hit the driver’s side of a Lincoln Navigator heading east on Olney, causing it to spin and overturn on its driver side.

Bend Fire crews used extrication tools to cut open the top of the SUV and free a passenger trapped in it.

Two people were taken to St. Charles-Bend by ambulance. Police said one of two dogs in a vehicle ran from the crash scene and was struck by a car.

The car’s driver was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device, officers said.

We’ll have more details as they become available.
