Charity ski weeks aid United Way, MBSEF, BGCCO
United Way of Deschutes County is very grateful to be an April beneficiary of the Mt. Bachelor 5th Annual Charity Ski Week Fundraiser.
Mt. Bachelor provides lift ticket vouchers to United Way of Deschutes County that are valid weekdays April 8 – 12 and 22 – 26. Skiers pick-up a voucher at United Way, present the voucher at the mountain along with $25 payment, and ski or snowboard all day. Mt. Bachelor contributes 100% of the proceeds back to the United Way organization.
Revenue generated through Mt. Bachelor’s Charity Ski Weeks goes to help support the programs and services provided by the agencies that partner with United Way. Last year, over 74,000 area residents of Deschutes County received much needed assistance from the over 30 local programs and human services that United Way helps to fund.
“Inclusion in this wonderful program is of great importance to our organization, the programs we help support and the recipients of those program services.” states Darleen Rodgers, Director of Resource Development with United Way of Deschutes County.
Mt. Bachelor President and General Manager, Dave Rathbun states, “We are very proud of the success of our charitable ski week programs and look forward to helping increase the overall ticket redemption and cash contribution to local Central Oregon non-profit organizations.”

Mt. Bachelor and Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon are excited to be partnering again during the Charity Ski Weeks program at Mt. Bachelor for its second session this year.
The program, which has given over $340,000 to Central Oregon area non-profit organizations through the Charity Ski Week program over the past four seasons, gives locals another way to support local non-profits while enjoying the pristine slopes of Mt. Bachelor.
The vouchers can be picked up at the Downtown Bend Boys & Girls Club starting Monday, April 8th, and redeemed for a $25 full day lift ticket at the mountain. Mt. Bachelor will donate 100% of the proceeds for all vouchers redeemed directly back to Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon at the end of the two-week long program.
The vouchers can be used midweek, April 8-12th and April 22-26th. Vouchers from Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon cannot be reserved and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. During the first round in January, the organization distributed all vouchers in less than 24 hours.
In 2012, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon received $9,225 from this program. The money was used to support their programs focusing on homework help, getting children active and community service projects. The money this year will support the same programs, putting youth on the path for success and great futures. “Supporting the youth in Central Oregon this April couldn’t be more fun,” said Nate Wyeth, Marketing Director for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon,
“Besides being able to ski for an unbeatable price, you know that you are doing your part in helping the nonprofits that provide so much to those in need in our community.” He continued, “We are grateful for the support from Mt. Bachelor over the years, they do so much good in our community.”
