Hoodoo to end 75th season with a splash
Following an exciting winter filled with fun events and festive celebrations in the Mid-Cascades, Hoodoo Ski Area will conclude its 75 th season of operation April 13-14.
Hoodoo’s annual Spring Fling event will be held on Saturday, April 13, featuring pond skimming competition. This event is a Hoodoo favorite with hundreds of spectators surrounding the base of a 90-foot man-made pond.
Over 50 brave competitors will skim, glide and crash across the frozen water as Three Creeks Brewery Presents this year’s Pond Skimming Competition at Hoodoo Ski Area.
Competitors are encouraged to dress up in wild costumes as they ride down the hill approaching the pond on skis, snowboard, snowbike or air board. Winner will receive a season pass.
Also scheduled for the day is the Annual Ultra-Cross Chaos. Teams of two, one skier and one boarder race down a designated course hitting as many gates as they can. If they attempt to cross the pond at the bottom of the course they will receive 10 seconds off their combined times. Winner receives a trophy and $40 gift certificate.
