KPOV plans spring membership drive
KPOV, High Desert Community Radio at 88.9, kicks off its Spring 2013 Membership Drive at 2 pm, Thursday, April 18. Listeners are encouraged to pledge their support to Central Oregon’s only nonprofit, full power radio station by calling 541-322-0863 or going on line at kpov.org.
The membership drive runs through Saturday, April 27. The station’s fundraising goal is $18,000 and 250 donors, including 100 new members. Volunteers will be airing special broadcasts and offering prize drawings and thank you gifts during the 10-day drive.
Central Oregon nonprofits and businesses like Neighbor Impact, the Environmental Center, Downtown Bend Business Assoc., PFLAG, MAMA, SMART, Jobs with Justice, and the Center for Car Donations are volunteering during the pledge drive. Live local bands will play during Center Stage on KPOV, Saturdays from 2-4 pm. Organizations and individuals who want to partner with or volunteer at KPOV during the drive can send an email to volunteer@kpov.org.
KPOV is a listener-supported, volunteer-powered, nonprofit community radio station that broadcasts at 88.9 FM and live on the web at kpov.org. High Desert Community Radio offers locally produced programs not heard on any other radio stations in the region, including civic affairs, election coverage, and the most diverse music programming in Central Oregon.
