OSP taking recruit trooper applications
Oregon State Police will be accepting applications to hire another group for Lateral and Entry level recruit trooper positions starting April 29 using the State of Oregon’s E-Recruit electronic application system.
The recruitment is necessary as OSP continues moving forward with hiring to fill vacant positions during the next year because many long-time troopers have retired over the last few years.
Persons interested in applying should start the process now by going to the Oregon State Police recruiting website at www.osptrooper.com . The website helps interested applicants learn about the application process and what it takes to successfully apply, and clearly understand our qualifications and what it will take to get prepared for required Entry Level Testing scheduled June 8 – 9 at the Oregon Public Safety Academy in Salem.
Applicants are urged to prepare beforehand for the application process and Entry Level Testing. Historically, half of all applicants fail the physical fitness portion of the entry level testing process. To help prepare for the testing process, applicants can see their age group and gender physical fitness standards as well as watch associated videos demonstrating proper testing performance on the ‘Trooper Testing Information’ link located at www.osptrooper.com . Additionally, applicants can review sample questions to help prepare for the written portion of the testing phase.
Those who believe this is the lateral or entry level opportunity they have been looking for can create an account now by building a profile following the instructions detailed on the website. The complete application for employment is comprised of the E-Recruit profile, the supplemental questionnaire, and any required attachments.
The Oregon State Police is an equal opportunity employer and strongly encourages women and minorities to apply. If you are interested in a challenging career to make Oregon a safe place to live while providing you with a lifetime of memories, then consider applying with the Oregon State Police.
