Bend Parks and Rec seeks summer teen volunteers

KTVZ

The Bend Park & Recreation District is seeking teen volunteers to help with youth recreation, fitness and swimming programs this summer.

Volunteers help from mid-June through Labor Day with opportunities such as the Junior Lifeguard and Swim Instructor Aide programs at Juniper Swim & Fitness Center, plus day camps, science, art, theater, nature and adventure activities for children, located at various sites.

Volunteers assist with program activities, learn job related skills and gain experience working with younger children.

Teen volunteers must enjoy working with youth and be able to create a positive, encouraging environment for participants. Age requirement, necessary training and time commitment varies by program. Minimum age for volunteers is 12 years old.

Teens can apply to volunteer opportunities through the Bend Park & Recreation District online registration site at www.bendparksandrec.org. Volunteer application and criminal history background check (for volunteers 18 years and older) are required. Forms are available online at www.bendparksandrec.org.
