Recycle scrap metal, help needy families

In May, all scrap metal proceeds generated by the Bend Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore will fund the Family Access Network voucher program.

The voucher program provides struggling local families with basic home furnishings and appliances.

The Bend ReStore is located at 760 NE 1 st St. in Bend.

About Bend Area Habitat ReStore:

The ReStore is a used and surplus building supply outlet, offering a huge selection of building material, appliances and furniture at 50-95% off retail prices. They welcome donations of: windows, doors, furniture, cabinets and appliances to lumber, flooring, paint, tile, lighting, plumbing, electrical, heating & hardware. All proceeds benefit Bend Area Habitat for Humanity. ReStore hours: Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Saturdays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays open for donations only, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

FAN advocates exist in all public schools (K – 12) and in three early childhood sites in Deschutes County. For more than 23 years, Bend Area Habitat has built and renovated 101 affordable homes serving low-income families in Bend and Crook Co.
