Car, pickup collide on Hwy. 20 east of Bend

One person received a minor injury Monday morning in a car-pickup collision at Highway 20 and Ward Road east of Bend, Oregon State Police reported.

OSP troopers said they are continuing the investigation and enforcement action is pending.

According to Lt. Carl Rhodes, shortly after 11 a.m., a Saturn four-door driven by Rubelyn Hansen, 34, from Bend, was stopped northbound on Ward Road.

Hansen tried to cross Highway 20 toward Hamby Road when she pulled into the path of an eastbound GMC pickup driven by Cory Will, 27, from Bend, and the two vehicles collided, Rhodes said.

Will was unhurt. Hansen was treated and released at the scene for her minor injuries. An infant boy passenger in a child safety seat was not injured.

OSP troopers from the Bend Area Command office are investigating the crash. OSP was assisted at the scene by The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Bend Police Department, Bend Fire Department and ODOT.
