Portland-area pair held in Redmond thefts case

KTVZ

A Portland-area couple believed to be involved in thefts from vehicles around Oregon has been arrested in Redmond — twice in two days, police said Tuesday.

On Monday, police assisted Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies in a theft investigation that led them to the Village Squire Motel, at 629 SW Fifth Street in downtown Redmond, officers said.

Deputies arrested Steven Gene Davey, 28, of Portland and Corina Lynn Siller, 32, of Aloha on various crimes, including theft and drug charges.

On Tuesday, Redmond police again assisted sheriff’s deputies, and while police were on scene, officers found more suspected stolen items. More owners were contacted and property was identified, which led Redmond police to arrest the pair on new theft charges.

With the recovery of more suspected stolen items, police said the information indicates the pair allegedly are involved in thefts from vehicles throughout Oregon.

Davey and Siller remained in the county jail in Bend late Tuesday on second-degree theft charges.

More property owners are being contacted as the investigation continues, officers said. Anyone with additional information that could help in the case was asked to contact Redmond police through county dispatchers at (541) 693-6911, referring to case 13-181840.

In a Facebook posting on the case, Redmond police thanked the motel “for their patience during the investigation” and the sheriff’s office for its help.
