The Friends of the Redmond Branch Library Art Committee announces a “Call for Artists” for an exhibition at the Redmond Library. The Deer Ridge Correctional Institution Welding Program students will be the “Featured Artists” during this exhibition. The work of Central Oregon artists will supplement the metal sculptures from Deer Ridge.

The Falling Leaves Exhibition is open to bothartists and photographers residing in Central Oregon. Artists may submit one (1) piece of art. The Falling Leaves Exhibition will be held from October 5 – November 8, 2013.

The Redmond Branch Library has gained a reputation for exciting exhibitions of fine art. So far in 2013, the Friends of the Redmond Library has held several successful exhibitions including the first annual “BE a PART of the ART” fundraiser. 2013 also saw the launching of the FORL website which has generated a wider awareness of FORL art exhibitions and the FORL bookstore.

Exhibiting artists contribute 20% of the sale price of their artwork in support of the Friends of the Library which sponsors the Art Committee and all art exhibits at the Library.

Exhibiting until October 4, 2013, is “Our Best to You!” an exhibition by members of the Sagebrushers Art Society. The Silent Reading Room is featuring artwork by local painter, Carol Jacquet, while the Display Case has a delightful presentation of hand-painted eggs by Dolores Cooper.

The Redmond Branch library is located at 827 SW Deschutes Ave., Redmond, OR 97756. Library hours are Monday – Friday: 10 – 6 PM, Tuesday: 10 – 8 PM and Saturday: 10 – 5 PM.

The show Prospectus will be available on the FORL website at www.redmondfol.org. It can also be obtained in the Friends Bookstore in the Redmond Branch library and by request via email. For additional information contact: Shandel Gamer 541-526-5073 or sgamer1955@gmail.com.
