Boneyard Beer to open second Bend location

KTVZ

Central Oregon is getting another brewery. Boneyard Beer will be opening a second location off of Empire Avenue in northeast Bend.

The new location is three times bigger than their current one, and will allow the company to more than double their production.

Boneyard Beer currently makes about 15,000 barrels a year, and Co-Owner Tony Lawrence said they should be putting out 40,000 barrels by 2015.

The company plans to start brewing in their new location by January.

Lawrence says not only will it increase their production, but it will also allow them to expand their “menu.”

“We have had to limit our production to just a few core brands, and that’s getting a little boring,” Lawrence said. “So we’re definitely looking forward to being able to put some of the old ones back in the lineup, and maybe create some new ones. And typically, having extra capacity will allow you to do that. That will be fun.”

For now, the tasting room and merchandise store will continue to be at Boneyard’s location at 37 NW Lake Place. However, Lawrence says they are looking into new retail spaces for that.
