Church to gather, observe Feast of Tabernacles

KTVZ

The United Church of God, an International Association, formed in May 1995, will observe the biblical Feast of Tabernacles this year from September 19-26. The Bend-Redmond site will host several hundred attendees from the Northwest and all over the United States. Church services will be held daily in the Middle Sister conference room at the Deschutes County Expo Center in Redmond.

The attendees are part of a large group of more than 15,000 meeting in locations around the world, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, the United Kingdom, and several African, Caribbean, Central and South American and South Pacific countries.

The Feast of Tabernacles is an important annual reminder to church members of the promise of Jesus Christ to return to this earth and establish the kingdom of God. One of the reasons for the founding of the United Church of God in May 1995 was to preserve members’ belief and practice regarding the annual Holy Days observed in Old Testament times as well as by Jesus, the apostles and the early New Testament Church.

United Church of God members will be in town for eight days, participating in services and seminars and family activities, and enjoying the many recreational opportunities that Central Oregon provides. The Feast of Tabernacles is the highlight of the religious year. Members save up to ten per cent of their annual income to spend during this eight-day period. In previous years church members have made a significant financial impact on local area hotels, restaurants and amenities during this annual event.

Information about the Feast of Tabernacles and other biblical Holy Days and about the United Church of God, an International Association is available on the UCG Web site, www.ucg.org. Schedule of services and other events is available online at feast.ucg.org.
