Prineville police still hunting for missing man

KTVZ

Prineville police said Monday they are still trying to find a 56-year-old man who told friends he might go “gold mining” and last was heard from in early August.

Police first turned to the public on Friday, Sept. 6 for any tips to help find Mackenzie “Mac” Everett Wright, who last was seen 4-6 weeks ago.

Detectives have followed up on leads in the area, as well as other places, such as Lakeview to Grants Pass, Boyd said in Monday’s update.

Police are asking anyone with recent contact with Wright, or who has any information, to contact Prineville police.

Wright is described as a white male, 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, with gray hair, a short gray beard and glasses, said police Capt. Michael Boyd. He last was seen in the area of his home, in the 700 block of SE Knight Street, he said.

Wright had mentioned to friends that he might go “gold mining” but did not offer details, the captain said.

Wright does not drive, and his bike is still at his home. Boyd said Wright could have health problems, but this has not been confirmed.

An initial investigation has not indicated foul play, according to Boyd.

As police actively pursue any leads, they ask anyone with information to contact Prineville police at (541) 447-4168.
