Management shuffle at Redmond Airport

There’s been a shuffle at the helm of the Redmond Municipal Airport, with Manager Kim Dickie replaced on an interim basis until a new permanent director is named. She will now serve as deputy director.

Robert Noble, a former manager of the Eugene Airport, was named interim director on Wednesday and will start next Tuesday.

Dickie, who spent nearly 20 years working at San Francisco International Airport, was hired two years ago to succeed long-time RDM Manager Carrie Novick. Now, she will be deputy director of the Redmond Airport.

Redmond City Manager Keith Witcosky told NewsChannel 21 on Wednesday the change was needed to reach some long-term goals he has for the airport. He said the city will look for a permanent airport manager at a later date.

Mayor George Endicott said the change is Witcosky’s prerogative, and the council trusts the moves he’s making.

City of Redmond, Oregon announces a change in leadership at the Redmond Municipal Airport. Mr. Robert Noble shall assume the position of Airport Director on an interim basis beginning Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

“Robert brings a breadth of airport management experience to Central Oregon. He will be able to hit the ground running and take this prized public asset to the next level as we strive to make Redmond Airport the best airport of its size in the nation,” states Redmond City Manager Keith Witcosky.

Mr. Noble has more than 18 years of experience in numerous public aviation leadership roles across Oregon. His resume includes serving as the Airport Manager for the City of Eugene from 2001 – 2007. His knowledge, skills and experience will position Redmond Airport for long term success as it continues to play an essential role as an economic driver for all of Central Oregon.

Ms. Kimberly Dickie, current Airport Director, has been transferred to the position of Interim Deputy Director of Redmond Airport. Ms. Dickie will report to Mr. Noble.
