Bend’s Bethlehem Inn receives two grants
The Bethlehem Inn, Central and Eastern Oregon’s only emergency shelter for individuals and families, is proud to announce it has been awarded a $7,000 grant from the Robert D. and Marcia H. Charitable Trust.
“We are honored and very excited to have been selected for this critical funding support from the Randall Charitable Trust,” stated Gwenn Wysling, Executive Director of the Inn.
“This funding will be dedicated to helping fund our Emergency Meal and Volunteer Outreach Programs, which are both vital components of the Inn’s ability to serve the disadvantaged in our community.”
The Bethlehem Inn also is proud to announce it has been awarded a $2,875 grant from the Ronald McDonald House Charities Central Oregon.
“We are very excited to have been selected for this funding support designated to help our Families First Program” stated Gwenn Wysling, Executive Director of the Inn.
“The Inn currently has five units designated for families experiencing homelessness. Last year the Inn provided a warm bed, three meals each day and support services to 75 families in need. This funding will be dedicated to helping parents and their children move forward with their lives.”
The Bethlehem Inn provided shelter, food and support to 822 individuals and children last year; over 66,000 meals were served to those in crisis and another 1,473 food boxes were provided to those in need. Another 341 non-residents received food and support services.
