Meyer Memorial Trust makes C. Oregon grants

At the October program meeting, Meyer Memorial Trust’s board of trustees authorized six grants worth more than $230,000 to nonprofits in Central Oregon.

Most of these awards were made as Grassroots Grants, a program generally designed for smaller organizations (a list of awards and contact information for the local organizations is provided below).

The largest award was a $150,000 grant to NeighborImpact in Redmond to build communications capacity for this community action agency that provides safety net services for central Oregon’s low-income residents.

Oregon CASA Network in Bend received $40,000 to implement a training and quality assurance assessment and expansion support program for Oregon’s Court-Appointed Special Advocates.

These grants bring the total amount awarded to central Oregon since Meyer Memorial Trust began operating in 1982 to more than $22.6 million.

Meyer Memorial Trust is one of the largest private foundations in Oregon, with assets of approximately $750 million. The Board of Trustees—which includes Debbie Craig, John Emrick, Orcilia Ziga Forbes, George Puentes and Charles Willhoite—meets monthly to make grants.
