C.O. LLama Association joins holiday parades

KTVZ

The Central Oregon Llama Association (COLA) and its members once again are showing their community spirit by joining several local area holiday parades this season.

The COLA organization brings people and llamas together, and participating in local community events is just one of the many means this friendly organization supports the economy, education, and community in Central Oregon.

The COLA is an organization of llama owners and llama lovers who enjoy showing, breeding, hiking and packing with their llamas.

Some members use the fiber from their animals to spin, knit and weave and attend local area and national fiber shows, events and competitions.

Many COLA members participate in community activities, schedule farm visits for children, special needs and charity organizations, and join parades with their llamas.

This year, members of the COLA will be demonstrating the loving nature of llamas by walking in local area holiday parades, including two scheduled parade events with this season:

Sisters “Silver Bells: Silver Screen – A Movie Filled Christmas” on November 30 at 2PM, and,
Bend “Run, Run, Rudolf” Parade on December 7 at 12 noon.

Meet and greet the llamas and owners before and after the parade—maybe take a holiday photo with the festively decorated llamas? (And kids…we’ll be handing out holiday sweets and treats along the parade route.)

There are more than 15 outfitters, ranches and llama owners on the High Desert, home to more than 500 llamas.

The COLA members love to share the joys of owning llamas with others. Contact one of us today via the website links provided at www.centraloregonllamas.net to learn more about llamas, schedule a llama walk/visit, get information about wilderness hikes, and more.
