Ridgeview students plan MLK ‘Freedom Walk’

Ridgeview High School students will be hosting a Freedom Walk at on Saturday, January 18 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Freedom Walk will begin at Obsidian Middle School at 9:30 a.m. Participants meet at 9:00 a.m. and will walk from OMS to Redmond City Hall in downtown Redmond. A reading of the “I Have a Dream” speech will be performed and refreshments will be offered to all attendees.

Ridgeview freshmen students Madison Hill, Emma Poindexter and Tiffany Brown have organized the Freedom Walk as an opportunity to honor and commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.

All participants are encouraged to bring posters containing MLK Jr.’s famous quotes to carry during the walk. Transportation back to Obsidian Middle School will not be provided.
