Shepherd’s House issues plea for winter gear

KTVZ

It has been a winter of extremes for both warm and cold temperatures. Surviving outdoors for the homeless can be rough. The Shepherd’s House, a nonprofit Bend organization that serves the homeless is seeking donations of socks, hats, gloves, jackets, sleeping bags, tents and other winter clothes and supplies.

“Winter is still with us and with the downturn in temperatures this past week, we have seen an increased need for warm clothing, sleeping bags, jackets, and socks. We’ve also seen more requests for shelter and food” said Curt Floski, Director at The Shepherd’s House.

In order to increase awareness, KNLR Radio 97.5 will be broadcasting live from The Shepherd’s House from 10 am to 3 pm this Saturday , January 25 . Come by and drop off a donation, visit with TSH staff, residents and enjoy lunch and the sounds of New Life Radio 97.5.

The Shepherd’s House is located at 1854 NE Division Street, Bend. For more information call 541-388-2096 or http://myshepherdshouse.org/
