Family remembers Prineville crash victim
Tyler Pierce was a man loved by many.
“He just made everything fun,” Tyler’s older sister, Kaylea Beach, said Monday. “I mean, in anything that he did, he did it to the fullest.”
Described as an outgoing, funny and a stand-up kind of guy, Tyler’s family says the 22-year-old was always there for support, and he made sure every moment of his life counted.
“Tyler had the greatest life in the world,” said Marge Pierce, Tyler’s grandmother. “He was involved in everything that he could get involved in.”
Tyler’s mother, Candy Shank, added,”If it was fun, Tyler would try it at least once.”
But fun turned to tragedy late Saturday when the ATV Tyler was riding on flipped, killing him and injuring two others — one of them the driver, Mason Stafford, 31, Tyler’s soon-to-be stepbrother and a dear friend who now faces manslaughter charges.
“Those people need support too — the ones that were involved that night,” Beach said. “Tyler wouldn’t want it any other way.”
Shank added, “Tyler went out with his friends. I wouldn’t have imagined it any other way, when you really look at Tyler.”
Tyler, a Crook County High School graduate, was engaged to be married to his fiance, Emily, this August.
Now he’ll live on through the memories of his many friends and family.
“He was just a caring, loving person, and just wanted to enjoy life to the fullest extent,” said Tyler’s cousin, Sean Love.
Tyler’s mom added, talking of her departed son: “I’m so thankful. I feel you all around me; I feel you around your friends, and your grandma and your dad, and your brother and sister. Thank you for loving us, thank you for everything. We have such wonderful memories of you. We can’t wait to see you again.”
Tyler’s family thanks everyone for the outpouring of support.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Crook County High School auditorium. There will be food and fellowship following the celebration at 12:30 p.m. at the Prineville Golf and Country Club. Anyone is welcome to attend.
