Deschutes County Fair Board seeks member

The Deschutes County Fair Board has one vacancy that needs to be filled. The Board of County Commissioners plan to fill the position by Thursday, May 1.

Board member candidates may be interviewed in mid – March and will have a three year term that begins Thursday, May 1.

The five-member Fair Board, appointed by the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners, operates the Deschutes County Fairgrounds, its facilities, and oversees the management of activities scheduled at the site.

Qualifications for the appointed positions include current residence in Deschutes County, geographical balance to other members on the Board, and overall background experience relating to Fair and Expo Center management.

The Deschutes County Fair Board meets on the second Thursday of each month at 3:00 p.m., for a total of 12 meetings each year.

Residents interested in serving on the Deschutes County Fair Board should send a letter (by mail, email or hand delivery) explaining their interest and related experience by Friday March 14, at 5:00 p.m. to:
