CEC reports power outage east of Sisters

KTVZ

Two pieces of equipment failed Monday afternoon and caused a circuit to open at Central Electric Cooperative’s Sisters substation, knocking out power to nearly 170 members between Sisters and Bend, officials said.

Utility spokesman Jeff Beaman said the first call on the outage was received around 3:30 p.m. and service was restored to about 100 members within an hour in the area off Cloverdale Road.

The other 65, in the area south of Plainview, were expected to take longer to restore due to a piece of burned-out equipment atop a power pole near Gist and Varco roads that needs to be changed out, Beaman said.
