The Center Foundation awards 2014 scholarships

TCF (The Center Foundation) is pleased to announce the winners of its 2014 scholarship program.

Each year, TCF joins with the community to honor outstanding Central Oregon high school juniors and seniors.

Scholarships are donated by local businesses, foundations, and individuals to ensure that local students have help with their college goals.

To be considered for either the $1,500 Junior Scholarship, the monthly High Desert Hero award, or the $5,000 William K. Worrell Scholarships, students must complete an application and essays. They must also demonstrate a 3.5 GPA or higher, outstanding leadership and community service.

The TCF scholarship program culminates in the Bank of the Cascades presented Salute to Heroes Scholarship Awards Dinner scheduled for Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Seventh Mountain Resort.

Local professional triathlete Linsey Corbin will be the keynote speaker. Salute to Heroes dinner tickets and sponsorships and scholarship sponsors are available at www.centerfoundation.org or 541-322-2399.

Lane Gladden, Sisters High School receiving the Damien Bevando Memorial Scholarship

Justine Hanway, Mt. View High School sponsored by The Center

Annie Jarvis, Summit High School sponsored by Wells Fargo

Melissa Olivera, Madras High School sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Kelly Mingus
