The Redmond Chamber of Commerce and CVB recently announced the hiring of Ben Montgomery as its new marketing director.

A Midwest native, Montgomery joins the Redmond Chamber staff after serving as the special projects managing editor at The Bulletin / Western Communications in Bend for nine years.

A former sports writer and news editor, he earned his marketing chops as the marketing coordinator at a technologies company in Iowa before making the move to Central Oregon in 2005. At The Bulletin, Montgomery managed the editorial planning and production of a variety of publications such as magazines, community tabs, event guides and special marketing/promotional sections.

“We’ve known and worked with Ben for nearly six years now through our coordinated production of Redmond Magazine, and we’re thrilled to now have him on our team as we continue to support and promote Redmond’s vibrant business community,” said Eric Sande, executive director of the Redmond Chamber of Commerce and CVB. “Ben brings us a level of experience, professionalism and enthusiasm that will certainly prove beneficial to our membership community.”

Montgomery is a 1997 graduate of Simpson College (Indianola, IA), where he majored in communication studies. He enjoys camping, hiking, mountain biking, sampling local microbrews and exploring the diverse sites of Oregon with his
