Redmond School District Superintendent Mike McIntosh has announced the selection of Dusty Porter as principal for John Tuck Elementary School.

Porter will replace outgoing John Tuck Principal Dave Perdue, who accepted a principal position in Utah.

Porter is returning to Redmond School District after serving as Assistant Principal at Hermiston High School for two years.

Before working in Hermiston, Porter spent seven years as an educator in Redmond having served as Assistant Principal at Obsidian Middle School and teacher, basketball coach and Dean of Students at Redmond High School.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University, a master’s degree from Western Oregon University and received his administrative certificate from George Fox University.

“Redmond School District is honored to welcome Dusty Porter back to our team,” shared McIntosh. “Dusty’s passion for education and his knowledge of the Redmond community will be instrumental in his role supporting the students and families at John Tuck Elementary.”

Porter will begin his work at John Tuck in July and is enthusiastic about returning to the district.

“It is an outright honor to have the opportunity to serve and be a part of the John Tuck family and the Redmond School District,” Porter shares. “John Tuck is a school community filled with talented people who love children with a resolute desire to provide every child the highest quality education possible. I can’t wait to join the team and begin our work together to continue to build on the strong foundations that make John Tuck a special place for kids.”
