Horse competition held at Tumalo ranch
Horse enthusiasts from across the Pacific Northwest have taken over a ranch in Tumalo.
About 150 riders are competing in the Rose City Opener, a national “A”-rated hunter-jumper show that ends Sunday.
The owners of Juniper View Ranch host the event. They say it’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it, as horse shows have a positive effect on a local economy.
One coach tells us, she brings a team of about 10, plus three times that in support. Those people eat, shop, and stay in hotel rooms in our community.
