Deschutes Co. Fair ‘mini-registration’ in Bend
“Sew It, Grow It and Show It!” is the theme for this year’s Deschutes County Fair. To help seniors, adults and youth enter in this year’s non-livestock open class exhibits the staff from the Deschutes County Fair Open-Class Department will hold office hours in Bend for mini-registration.
Staff will be able to help exhibitors enter in the fair on Wednesdays, June 18 through July 23 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Bend location for the mini-registration is at the Whistle Stop Business Center, 1900 NE Division, Suite 107.
At mini-registration, exhibitors can turn in completed, non-livestock registration forms from the Deschutes County Fair Premium Book and pick up open class tags and food preservation labels.
Master Food Preservers will also be on hand in Bend to answer food preservation questions and provide tips for entering canned and dried food exhibits.
“We hope to encourage more participation this year in open class exhibits with office hours in Bend,” said Rachel McIntosh, Fair Board Director. “Those that enter and win blue, red or white ribbons will also win cash prizes.” To learn more about participating in open class at the county fair, check the website for 2014 Fair Premium Book or Online Entry at www.expo.deschutes.org , or pick up a copy of the Fair Premium Book at All Smolich Motors in Bend & Redmond, Bend & Redmond chamber of Commerce, the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Administrative office or OSU Extension/Deschutes County office.
