Graduation time on the High Desert

Nearly 1,100 Bend-La Pine Schools students will don caps and gowns this week as they take center stage to accept their high school diplomas.

Graduation schedules:

Mountain View High School, 307 Graduates

June 5, 7 pm

Deschutes County Fairgrounds

MVHS graduates plan to continue their education next fall at colleges and universities, including West Point, Reed College, Lewis and Clark, Willamette, Chapman, George Fox, Brigham Young, University of Ghana, Arizona State University, University of Oregon, and Oregon State University. Students have received more than $1.7 million in scholarships and awards for their collegiate studies.

La Pine High School, 97 Graduates

June 6, 7 pm

La Pine High School

LPHS graduates plan to continue their education next fall at colleges and universities, including Oregon Institute of Technology, Pacific University, Central Oregon Community College, University of Oregon and Oregon State University. Students have received more than $450,000 in scholarships and awards for their collegiate studies.

Summit High School, 305 Graduates

June 7, 2 pm

SHS graduates plan to continue their education next fall at colleges and universities, including US Airforce Academy, Harvard, Stanford, Scripps, Central Oregon Community College, University of Oregon and Oregon State University. Students have received more than $3.3 million in scholarships and awards for their collegiate studies.

Bend Senior High School, 326 Graduates

June 7, 7 pm

BSHS graduates plan to continue their education next fall at colleges and universities, including Doane College, UC Berkeley, Wellesley College, West Point, University of Guadalajara, University of Oregon and Oregon State University. Students have received more than $1.5 million in scholarships and awards for their collegiate studies.

Marshall High School, 31 Graduates

June 9, 6:30 pm

Marshall High School

MHS graduates plan to continue their education next fall at Sweet Briar College and Central Oregon Community College. Students have received more than $75,000 in scholarships and awards for their collegiate studies.

Redmond School District will be celebrating the class of 2014 this week as both Redmond High School and Ridgeview High School are set to host their graduation ceremonies on June 4 and 6 respectively.

A total of 367 students will be graduating from Redmond School District’s two high schools. Both schools report a high percentage of college bound students with approximately 84% of graduating seniors moving on to college or trade school. Another 6% of the district’s graduating seniors are moving on to serve in the armed forces.

“Redmond School District is honored to celebrate the hard work of the class of 2014,” Superintendent Mike McIntosh shares. “On behalf of our board of directors and the entire district team, we wish these graduating seniors of the best of luck in their future endeavors!”

Redmond School District would like to remind the public that graduation ceremonies are formal events and the use of noisemakers or other distractions are strongly discouraged out of respect to students and their families. Trinity Lutheran School’s 2014 Baccalaureate service is June 6th at 7:00 p.m. and our graduation is at 10:00 a.m. on June 7th. Both are held in the gym (2550 NE Butler Market Rd).
