Road projects to affect Bend Westside traffic
Starting Monday, a couple of road construction projects begin that will affect traffic along Shevlin Park Road, Northwest Crossing Drive and Mt. Washington Drive. Drivers should expect delays for part of the week.
Taylor Northwest LLC will close Shevlin Park Road between the Northwest Crossing Drive/Shevlin Park Road roundabout and the Mt. Washington Drive/Shevlin Park Road roundabout from Monday, June 23, to Thursday, June 26.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured through the Northwest Crossing area, along Mt. Washington Drive and Northwest Crossing Drive. (See map for detour.)
Closures and detours will be in place from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. There will also be one night of work and road closures, starting at midnight Tuesday night and remaining closed through the Wednesday day time closure.
The contractor is required to reopen the road before June 27 in time for the Hullabaloo festival in Northwest Crossing.
The closure is necessary to conduct water line work in the roadway associated with a new medical center construction project.
Also starting Monday, the city of Bend Streets Division is doing some chip seal road repair work on Mount Washington Drive north of the Shevlin Park Road roundabout. This project requires only one lane closure at a time, so flaggers and signs will direct traffic around the roadwork.
