Mannix honored for drug task force leadership
Bend Police Lt. Ken Mannix was honored Tuesday with an award from the Oregon Narcotics Enforcement Association and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area.
The award was named “2014 Outstanding Task Force Commander.” Leaders from all Oregon drug task force teams were eligible for this award.
“Lt. Mannix was most deserving of this award for providing effective leadership, being innovative, building and fostering relationships with task force partners, and managing a large number of significant drug investigations,” a city of Bend press release stated.
“These drug investigations included hundreds of search warrants, arrests, and the seizure of a substantial amount of drugs, guns, and related money.
The Central Oregon Drug Enforcement team includes members from the following federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies: Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, Oregon State Police, Oregon National Guard, Bend Police Department, Redmond Police Department, Prineville Police Department, Crook County Sheriff’s Office, Madras Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and works closely with the Warm Springs Indian Reservation task force.
