NE Bend payday loan store robbed; suspect sought
Bend police are looking for a suspect and a getaway SUV in a robbery Wednesday morning at a northeast Bend business that makes payday loans and cash advances.
Shortly after 9 a.m., a man described as a white male adult, possibly in his 30s, entered ACE Cash Express at 1233 NE Third Street, demanded cash and ran out with an undisclosed amount of money, said Lt. Kurt Koester.
No one was hurt during the course of the robbery, and witnesses saw the robber drive away in a blue four-door SUV with Oregon license plates, Koester said.
The suspect was described as 5-foot-8 to 5-10 and medium build. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black baseball cap and black sunglasses.
Bend police are seeking assistance from the community in identifying and finding the suspect, Koester said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Jason Maniscalco at 541-693-6911.
